Bankhead Coal Mine

 

These men appear to be coming off shift.

 

The structure in the background appears to be the tipple for loading coal.  You can see the empty railroad hopper cars in the background at the left.

 

The man way is in the foreground relative to the previous picture.

 

It is not known whether the man way was the same opening as the material way for bringing loaded mine cars out of the mine.
