Eureka Coke Ovens

View of AB&A tracks (CSX today), looking west where embankment crosses Eureka ovens in the "hollow".  There was a bridge here for years to enable the AB&A, c. 1906, to go over the L&N Mineral, c. 1880's.  The bridge was eventually filled in.  Since this embankment cuts through the ovens, it would seem likely that the ovens may have been out of service by 1906.  The greatest part of the length of the ovens is south of the RR, to the left in this picture.
