Eureka Coke Ovens
According to Ken Penhale, these piers contain stone from the frontwall of the Eureka Coke Ovens. The Shelby County Transportation Dept. staff indicates that the bridge was constructed about 1940 as a WPA project. This is consistent with the date of the aerial photo taken in February, 1941.
