Just up the hill from
the tank/pool structure, and behind the tipple are these timber
bents. Two are visible here, and a third was visible farther up
the hill.
It is guessed that these supported the tramway
for ore cars coming from the mine to the tipple, as there was cable on
the ground.
It is assumed that the mine opening is at the
far end of this tram system. It seems odd to go "up the
hill" to get to the mine slope, but that is where the ore seam
outcrop is found, sloping steeply into the side of the hill. |
