Later that day, this shot is taken from the top of Shades Mountain, looking north to Red Mountain in the distance.  The valley below is along the Oxmoor Shannon Road and the current CSX mainline.  The "lone tree" on the right shows the line of sight to where the Oxmoor furnace stood until 1928 -- in the valley.  (The tree is not on the furnace site, only pointing the way.)  Today the furnace site is a warehouse on one side and a vacant lot on the other.
